Every year, artists, specialists, scientists, producers and other key people come to FMX to network and to discuss production issues, exciting technologies and new ways of financing and distribution across the industries with an international audience. High quality experts deliver insightful presentations and Workshops as part of the FMX - Film & Media Exchange program, industry professionals introduce their hard - and software products at the Marketplace, top-notch companies scout talent at the Recruiting Hub and international schools present their best projects on the School Campus. FMX was initiated as an event for students labeled "Film and Media Exchange"(FMX) in 1994 and was supposed to take place every two years; it was turned into an annual event in 1996. FMX enjoys a long-standing partnership with the Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart (ITFS). Together they host the Animation Production Day (APD).
