Kakaia Productions

KAKAIA Productions is a film production company founded by Sāmoan producer Carrisse Uta'i and Marquesan director Kahu Kaiha. The team specialises in Pacific-led storytelling and development for cinema. They're a team to watch—following their award-winning debut short film "Find Where I Belong"(2022), they've continued making strides with their second short film "KÜĪ", which begins its film festival circuit this year. Kahu and KAKAIA Productions are now developing their debut documentary feature film "KAKAIA - Children Of Tiki." The film focuses on a Marquesan dance group that sparked a cultural revolution among Marquesan youth and bravely uncovered hidden truths about the Marquesas Islands' colonial history.
