Indian Port Rail & Ropeway Corporation Limited (IPRCL), a Special Purpose Vehicle under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, is a premier organisation which has been mandated by Govt. of India for providing rail and road connectivity to Ports and hinterland industries across India. The company is an ISO certified multi-modal infrastructure services Company which has expanded its operation to 73 clients in 22 different States having 280 projects worth more than Rs. 4500 crores. IPRCL has 10 regional offices and 24 field units currently having a base of 83 agencies handling infrastructure development, first and last mile connectivity to Ports and hinterland, O&M of railway assets, supply of locomotives, ropeways, coastal shipping and waterways etc. The service spectrum of IPRCL covers preparation of Feasibility Study, Detailed Project Report, Detailed Engineering, Project Management Consultancy including execution of projects. It has the unique advantage of possessing an exclusive in-house multi-disciplinary mix of manpower, which gives it an edge over most other consulting agencies in the field. Besides, with a wide network of functional regional bases across the country it has the capability of taking up projects in any part of India at short notice.
