Azmena Publishing And Distribution House

In 1990, the late writer Elias Farkouh founded Dar Azmna as a turning point in publishing and culture in Jordan and the Arab world. Dar Azmana paid great attention to the book industry, and with it the quality of Arabic works and the quality of translations of world literature increased. The cultural arena saw this prosperity with the emergence of names that the Arab reader had never before known. This elitist publishing policy was what distinguished the Azmana Administration, because those in charge of it were among the elite intellectuals of the Arab world, and in 1998 the house was classified as one of the ten best Arab publishing houses. In 2020, the Arab scene lost the late writer and founder of Dar Azmana, Elias Farkouh, and the house’s operations stopped for a full year, until its ownership was transferred to Dr. Youssef Rababaa through his purchase and he became the current owner of the house in 2021. In 2023, an agreement was reached with the Maktabji Cultural Foundation, one of the most important youth cultural institutions that aims to create the educated reader, to take over the management of the entire publishing house, to be the first Arab publishing house managed by a group of educated youth, to create a book worthy of what the Arab reader deserves, and in a manner befitting the name.
