Nankai High School

Nankai High School is one of the leading high schools in China. Founded in 1904 by the famous Chinese educationists Yan Xiu and Zhang Boling, Nankai High School was originally a private school, featuring a Western-style college-preparatory curriculum instead of a traditional Confucian one. Nankai High School was the first school in the Nankai Family of Schools, a system that later expanded to include Nankai University in 1919 and Chongqing Nankai Middle School in 1936. As of September 2019, two former prime ministers of China, 57 Academicians, and three presidents of Tsinghua University have been affiliated with Nankai High School as alumni. Today, Nankai High School is a public school best known for its success in cultivating scientists and politicians throughout Chinese history. Graduates of the school are typically admitted to top universities in China and around the world.
