Bochum Perspektive 2022 Gmbh
The Bochum Perspektive 2022 GmbH is the owner of MARK 51°7, a 68 ha big industrial and commercial site in Bochum that formerly belonged to General Motors. As a predominantly city managed company the City of Bochum develops the site together with Opel Automobile GmbH. Our task is to develop this site until the plots are ready for construction and marketing these areas towards investors. This includes the disposal of physical structures, as well as the remediation of contaminated soil and mining damages. We communicate all of these measures with companies as well as the public, we also initiate city development competitions to ensure a demand-driven infrastructure. Our project is partly financed with the Regional Economic Development Fund of North Rhine Westphalia. The deconstruction and development of the former GM plant started in April 2016.
