ISZ’s Mission Statement To provide balanced and innovative international education that enable students to achieve their individual potentials, while preparing them to be successful citizens who make positive contributions to society and the world. About the International School of Zanzibar (ISZ): The International School of Zanzibar (ISZ) is a small, exceptional school located on a spacious campus with stunning views of the Indian Ocean. It is situated just a short drive from the Stone Town of Zanzibar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a notable example of a Swahili coastal trading town. ISZ is an NGO school with a strong commitment to transformational and authentic learning, aiming to extend its positive impact beyond the classroom walls. Despite its small size, currently at 200 students, ISZ boasts a diverse student body representing 39 different nationalities. The school's faculty is equally diverse, with 25 teachers hailing from 12 different countries. ISZ values and celebrates diversity as one of its unifying strengths. ISZ offers an excellent education to both the local population and the international community, covering students from Nursery through to Advanced level. The school follows the Early Years Foundation Stage for the younger students, the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) in primary school which also utilises the Cambridge Mathematics and English programs. The secondary school follows Cambridge Lower Secondary, Cambridge Upper Secondary, and Cambridge Advanced programs. ISZ graduates are well-prepared for university education, and we have a track record of our alumni excelling in their higher education endeavours, becoming active participants in various fields, and making significant contributions to the betterment of our global community.
