Chess Informant

Chess Informant is one of the world leaders in chess publishing industry (books, electronic books, chess software). Founded in 1966, before the era of new technologies arisen, Chess Informant with it's same name flagship product (periodical book and later electronic book as well) was the ultimate source of information for chess players worldwide. In the years of his greatest successes, former world champion Garry Kasparov asserted „We are all children of Informant“. From millions of games played at some of the most important tournaments at the globe, more than games have been published in the 112 volumes of Chess Informant series (1966-2011). Among contributors there were more than notable chess players including all the world champions from Max Euwe to current in 2012, Viswanathan Anand. Chess Informant has developed a system of 500 codes for the classification of chess openings (Encyclopedia of Chess Openings, ECO codes), and system of symbols that communicating chess information across language barriers. Both inventions, trademarks of Chess Informant, Inc, have set the international standards for organizing chess information. The company, based in Belgrade, has sold more than three million books in 150 countries.
