Uganda Market Systems Development Network

In Uganda, MSD approach has been adopted by many development agencies. MSD Approach itself calls for tailor made, market specific and iterative design and implementation of interventions that create lasting and scalable impact. Adopting a uniform development approach anchored onto MSD principles by all development agencies is necessary to avoid any mixed signals and confusion that may arise as different development agencies design and implement their interventions. There is also a need to strengthen any emerging Community of Practice that would enhance the understanding and implementation of the MSD approach in Uganda. Furthermore, there is a growing community of commercial businesses, social businesses and capital advisory firms that are engaged in implementing inclusive and BoP facing business models. The Market Systems Development Network seeks to create a network or a framework that brings together like-minded MSD practitioners including development agencies, NGOs, donor projects, private consulting firms, and private sector firms into a community of practice.
