Machine Design Laboratory Ntua

Τhe Machine Design and Dynamics Laboratory (abbreviated as MDLab) is a research centre established at the National Technical University of Athens, Greece. It is one of the oldest laboratories of the School of Mechanical Engineering, founded in 1941 under the name “Laboratory of Machine Elements”. It currently operates under the Department of Machine Design and Automatic control. The research team of the Lab is comprised of two Professors, five PhD candidates and more than twenty members of undergraduate and post graduate students. The scientific and research areas of interest for the Machine Design and Dynamics Lab include kinematic and dynamic analyses of machine elements and assemblies, modelling and design of power transmission systems, high pressure hydraulics and fluid power engineering, application of advanced materials at machine elements and design and assessment of structural and dynamics integrity of machine elements. The laboratory produces high-quality, versatile research work published at the corresponding fields’ most reputable Journals and Magazines. Significant part of its work is completed in close cooperation with leading companies in the field of Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing, where the research group’s high expertise provides innovative solutions to demanding technical challenges.
