Normandy French Resistance Monument

The French Resistance was unequivocally important to the success of the Allied invasion and follow on operations in the drive to liberate France. The French Resistance Monument will honor their sacrifices and contributions to Operation Overlord (D-Day) and the drive to free France. The Normandy French Resistance Monument will be placed in Sainte Marie du Mont to honor the uncelebrated contributions of the Maquis to the success of Operation Overlord and the subsequent breakout. The monument will consist of three figures - representing the guerilla, auxiliary and underground elements.
