Ceris-Aveiro Civil Engineering Research And Innovation For Sustainability
CERIS-Aveiro (formerly RISCO, until 31.12.2024) is a research unit centred in the area of Civil Engineering that aims to promote the development of sustainable and resilient cities through safe, environmentally friendly, efficient, and durable constructions. Its research activity is oriented for the mitigation of risks in the built environment, for the efficiency of the use of resources in the built environment and for built heritage conservation. Although focused on Civil Engineering it also performs research in frontier areas such as mechanical, materials, and environmental engineering or architecture. CERIS-Aveiro is committed to performing state-of-the-art research and to achieving excellence in scientific production and technology transfer with a strong cooperation with other national and international research units, but also strongly associated with industry and other public and private organizations.
