Lyon Housemuseum

Lyon Housemuseum is a hybrid design of private residence and contemporary art museum. Through its innovative conjunction of art and living, the Housemuseum challenges conventional notions of public and private domains and explores new relationships between art and viewer. The Lyon Collection holds over 350 artworks by over 60 of Australia’s most significant contemporary artists, representing one of the largest collections of its kind in Australia. The public Housemuseum Galleries presents exhibitions, programs and events exploring contemporary art, architecture and design that reflect and shape our communities and our futures. The Housemuseum Galleries are open to the public Wednesday - Sunday between 12PM – 4PM (public holidays excepted). Located on the land of the Wurrundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. Lyon Housemuseum pay respect to their Elders past, present and emerging, and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
