Kape Diem Coffee Lab

Kape Diem is a company deeply rooted in Timor-Leste’s coffee culture."Kape" which means "coffee" in Kemak, the local dialect of the municipality of Bobonaro, the location of our first producer partnership in 2018. Kape Diem Coffee Lab sources beans directly from smallholder farmers in Timor-Leste in four municipalities, leveraging longstanding relationships and conducting experimental processing to craft unique, flavourful coffees. With strict quality control and a small, agile team overseeing the entire value chain, Kape Diem delivers exceptional specialty coffee experiences to domestic and international markets. Since 2019 Kape Diem coffees have annually placed in the top 10 coffees in national cup quality competitions. Beyond coffee quality Kape Diem supports barista trainings and development of the country’s coffee sector. In 2018 we supported the country’s first barista competition, and in 2019 hosted Timor-Leste's National Aeropress Competition. Within its staff, the company’s team comprise of Q-graders, SCA-certified trainers and Q-processing professionals. Dedicated to supporting Timorese communities and preserving coffee culture, Kape Diem is a leading player in Timor-Leste’s specialty coffee sector, and aims to continue to connect with people through a shared love of extraordinary coffee.
