Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz German Foundation For Monument Protection

The Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz (German Foundation for Monument Protection) is the biggest private initiative for preservation of the cultural heritage in Germany. Founded in 1985 as a citizens' initiative, the private trust commits itself to fund and preserve about 500 endangered monuments each year, enabled through contributions of more than regular donors. The charity raises awareness through a hollistic communication approach, e.g, coordinating Germany's biggest cultural event "Tag des offenen Denkmals®".
