Inherit Your Rights

Inherit Your Rights is a Christian organization seeking to end gender inequality & injustice in Tanzania through education and advocacy. Women in Tanzania are extremely vulnerable to poverty, violence and injustice due to the patriarchal customs that direct society. There are laws in place to protect the rights of women. However, there is a lack of awareness and access to these laws, and little action taken to protect women’s rights. Inherit Your Rights seeks to bring women in Tanzania under the rightful protection of the law through education and advocacy, for the eradication of gender-based injustice in Tanzania. We deliver legal and human rights trainings to the community, we provide free legal aid and counselling services to women in need, and we offer a curriculum-based Community Advisor Program, which teaches individuals to advocate for themselves and others.
