Erstwhile, Suzuki Motor Gujarat (post-amalgamation is now referred to as ‘Maruti Suzuki India Limited – Hansalpur’ plant) came into existence in March 2014. It aims to secure production ability for manufacture of Automobile market growth in India, as well as for expansion of exports from India. This state-of-the art passenger fully integrated car manufacturing plant was directly established by Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) Japan and later amalgamated with MSIL. It is spread over in ~600 acres of land in Village Hansalpur of Mandal Taluka in Ahmedabad district, having four car manufacturing plants and one Powertrain manufacturing plant. Car Manufacturing Plant A started its operation in February 2017; Plant B and Powertrain Plant started their production from January 2019. In October 2020, MSIL-H recorded the fastest production site within Suzuki Group to achieve accumulated automobile production of one million units.
