Arion Sports Club

Arion Agiou Artemiou Sports Club is a historical greek sports club based in Agios Artemios, Athens. It was founded in 1928 and it is active in football, basketball and volleyball. Its name was inspired by the ancient greek poet, Arion, as music and poetry was the first activities of the club. The great success of the club, took place at the 1997-1998 season, when the men's basketball team won the Championship of the Second National Division. Since then, the men's basketball team was competing in the A2 National Basketball Division untill the season 2001-2002. Apart from its daily sport activities, Arion organizes various other sport and cultural related activities, such as sport events and summer camps, which aren’t sport specific. Regarding sport event, Arion has a long tradition in hosting and co-organizing 3x3 basketball events. On this context, our sports club is very proud for its achievements as it hosted events, which were part of the Greek qualifier to the FIBA 3x3 World Tour during seasons 2014-2017. Especially for season 2017, Arion had the honor to host apart from one stop of the Tour the Final event. Throughout the years we welcomed several teams from abroad (Germany, Netherlands, Slovenia, Serbia, Poland etc.) in our iconic home court in Plyta Square. Regarding our summer camps, since 2014 our club has organized 7, either in our club’s office and our courts or in cooperation with a nearby school. Typically, summer camps start right after school’s season completion and last until the late July. Arion S.C. has a lot of loyal fans and it is very important for the local community of Agios Artemios, not only for its sports, but also for its social and philanthropic presence.
