Ethio-Djibouti Railway Share Company

Ethio-Djibouti Standard Gauge Railway Share Company (or Shortly Ethio-Djibouti Railway (EDR)) was established in April 2017, and put into operation on Jan, 2018. The company aims to provide seamless, reliable, and dependable Freight and Passenger Transport services between Stations in Ethiopia and Ports of Djibouti and envisions to be the leading transport provider company in East Africa by 2025. It has thus emerged as a critical infrastructure by leveraging its; 21 stations( 15 for passengers), a total railway length of 756 km, 41 locomotives and 1,130 coaches and wagons and more than employees. EDR transports more than passengers and 2 million tons of goods annually.
