Giz Nepal
As a federally owned agency, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für International Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) supports the German Government in achieving its objectives in international cooperation for sustainable development. GIZ and its predecessor agencies have been active in Nepal since the 1970s. In Nepal, GIZ mainly works on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), but also other German ministries, the European Union, Global Green Growth Institute. GIZ supports the Nepali Government and civil society organizations in the implementation of different projects in the following priority sectors- Sustainable Economic Development, Training and Employment - Health, Social Protection and Population Policy - Climate and Energy Additionally, support is also provided in the subjects of Peace Building through Civil Peace Service. GIZ Nepal employs over 140 national and international staff, who work closely with partner organizations. GIZ coordinates its work closely with bilateral and multilateral partners.
