CKPower Public Company Limited (CKP) – one of the region’s largest renewables-based electricity producers with one of the lowest carbon footprints, aims to use renewables e.g. solar power, hydropower and wind power for virtually all of its electricity production by 2024. The company currently invests in companies operating the business of production and distribution of electricity in both Thailand and the Lao PDR, in 3 types of power plants; hydroelectric power plant (88%), solar power plant (1%), and cogeneration power plant (11%). The company will increase the proportion of renewables-based electricity from currently 89% to 95% or 4,800 megawatts. It is also in support of the global target of achieving Net Zero GHG Emissions by 2050 through the development of clean energy innovation. In 2022, CKPower’s renewables-based power plants produced 9,883 GWh of clean electricity - a reduction of 5 million CO2-equivalent tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions per year. CKPower promotes a sense of consciousness in regard to the resources and the environment to encourage employee participation throughout the organization.
