Polaris Marine started as a workboat hire company over 32 years ago based in Sydney. Over time, Polaris Marine has grown substantially in size to be a leading provider of services within the marine sector. The fleet has grown to include large construction barges, ocean going tugs and a wide range of plant and equipment to encompass marine salvage, tug and barge hire, crane barges, coastal towage, silt curtain and environmental controls along with ship and crew management. In 2019 Polaris Marine acquired the plant & equipment of the former marine construction company Waterway Construction Pty Ltd. In 2023 The Polaris Marine Group acquired Harwood Marine in Yamba NSW.
