West Auckland Airport Parakai
West Auckland Airport Parakai would suit development into a second Domestic airport for Auckland. Population Catchment: There are people who live closer to West Auckland Parakai than to Auckland International Airport at Mangere. If some of these people, and freight to the West and North, could use West Auckland it would save time, money and carbon. Roading: Making use of the existing roads in the opposite direction to normal flows, would reduce congestion and support further development of the 'NW Transport Corridor'. The recently upgraded Northern rail line runs right through Helensville and past the Airport. Freight and passenger transfer possibilities would be supported for both the Airport and Helensville area. Authorisation: West Auckland Airport Parakai is already an 'Airport Authority' and is recognised as important infrastructure for the West Auckland area. It has had established commercial operations for many years and has space for expansion with minimal disruption with few regulatory barriers to increasing to full domestic traffic. The owners have worked towards a domestic airport for some 18 years, and many factors are now coming into alignment. Most cities of Auckland’s size have a smaller domestic airport in addition to the big one. With Auckland’s geographical shape, West Auckland Airport, Parakai is well placed to serve Auckland's North West.

Nz Warbirds Association Inc
NZ Warbirds was originally conceived by the late Trevor Bland who in June 1978 organised a meeting of interested parties with a common goal to establish an association to restore, fly and enjoy aircraft of an historic nature with a connection to the Royal New Zealand Air Force. From our humble beginnings forty years ago, we now have a membership close to 600 with a mixture of active pilots and aviation enthusiasts all with a desire to see these aircraft fly for generations. Although our organisation was started to preserve ex-RNZAF aircraft, this has been expanded to include any type due to the successful introduction of service aircraft from all over the world. The Association does not aim to glorify war. Its objective is to provide the wide range of skills and support necessary to see these grand old military and historic aircraft preserved in flying condition.
