Carabiner
At Carabiner we work to improve lives. We believe the way public buildings are designed and built should empower the people who visit, work and live in them to thrive, grow and succeed. That's why we design sport, education, and health buildings that uplift the WA community. We're guides, not gurus. And since 1995 our focus has been working collaboratively with our clients, in a way that is more connected to them than any other architectural firm. It's in our name. The Carabiner is an ingenious and simple clip that helps climbers reach great heights, but they don't do it alone. Designing a public building is complex. Discovering opportunities and navigating hurdles are all easier with an experienced design partner by your side. It's what we do. And our team will work with you to achieve great outcomes that leave a lasting impact. Every community is different. Learning what's important to the people who use the buildings we design is a key part of how we work. No grandeur-driven agenda. Just good, thorough design that will last. We understand the challenges our clients and their stakeholders face to deliver quality projects, on time, and on budget. It's why our practice is underpinned by tried and tested processes, refined over thirty years of operation. To learn more about how we work, follow us for news and updates, or visit our website. We are led by six principals, each recognised leaders in their fields. Founding principal and award-winning architect Kai Chen is responsible for design direction and, with principal Milica Tumbas, the management of architectural projects. Peter Lovell, a key participant in the fields of heritage and conservation practice, and also a founding principal, leads project teams in both areas. The heritage team is led by principals Kate Gray, Adam Mornement and Katherine White, and the practice principal is Anne-Marie Treweeke. Lovell Chen works on built environment projects of all types and sizes, from large scale former industrial complexes to individual houses and structures. Our architecture, conservation and heritage teams work collaboratively, with clients and project team members, to deliver a truly integrated service.

Ma Co
MA+Co is an architecture studio specialising in mixed-use, commercial, residential and multi-residential projects. Known for our thoughtful and personalised approach at every stage of design and delivery - for projects both big and small. Built on 30 years of dedication to architecture and design by Principal Karen Alcock, Associate Director Rachael McNally and our team past and present. Previously MAArchitects the new name, MA+Co, consolidates what had already existed within MAA; a studio where ideas are cultivated, learning is supported, and collaboration is valued to deliver quality projects. A typical MA+Co project integrates big gesture volumetric thinking with sustainability and the intimacy and tactility of well-chosen details. Within our work, it is the small moments that matter: the tangible quality of the surfaces you touch, the play of light throughout the day, the spatial exchange in every room. Underpinned by rigour, intellect and innovation. MA+Co is defined by a perseverance to create thoughtful spaces for our clients and the environment, a studio capable of navigating the nuance required to construct sustainable, considered designs. In a fast-changing world, the studio embraces and exploits construction complexities to find delight in the ordinary.
