Von Trapp Brewing
It was more than a decade ago when Johannes von Trapp started thinking about starting a brewery at his family’s lodge in Stowe, Vermont. He had a dream to brew an American version of lagers he enjoyed while traveling to the countryside near his ancestral Austrian home. With this dream in mind, Johannes worked to start a brewery at Trapp Family Lodge. It became a reality in the spring of 2010, when von Trapp Brewery officially opened. Our brewery was originally a modest facility located in the lower level of the Lodge’s Kaffehaus. In 2015 we opened our sq. ft. brewery located on Luce Hill Rd. featuring a Rolec Brew House and capable of producing up to barrels of beer annually. You can enjoy our beers at the Lodge or in multiple restaurants and bars throughout Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, Michigan, Tennessee, Colorado and Washington DC (with more to come!).

52 West Brewing is an independent regional craft brewery, located in the heart of North Georgia Wine country. The owners, husband and wife team, David Burns and Samantha Couzens realized one Sunday afternoon while visiting a local winery, that the one thing missing from Dahlonega was a cool brewery. One that offered the same unique experience the wineries had: amazing scenery, music, a laid-back vibe that was close to home but could make you feel worlds away - BUT WITH BEER. Dave has always had a love/love relationship with beer. Drinking it was one thing. The question was could he make it? Starting with a home brewing kit and an insatiable thirst for great beer. The journey to make 52 West Brewing a reality had begun. Dave and Sam sold their home in Cumming, Georgia, bought a fabulous property in Dahlonega and wrote a business plan. The vision was to build a unique brewery concept, they coined Farm to Pint. A place where they would live, get a couple of cows, grow hops and fruit for the beer and brew uniquely balanced, flavourful beers. Dave and Sam chose to build 52 West Brewing in Dahlonega for a few reasons. One of them being Dahlonega is a really cool town. Home of University of North Georgia, close to the Appalachian Trail and Amicalola Falls, tons of wineries and the mountain views - stunning. Fun Fact: Dahlonega was established in 1829 and was the first major gold rush town in America. Who doesn’t like gold? But really, the main reason for establishing the brewery in Dahlonega was to build their vision of Farm to Pint. Build the brewery on the same piece of land where they lived. Grow hops and fruit for the beer, have some fun farm animals to hang out with and start living the dream.
