Brand Coffee Farm Uganda
Uganda is internationally considered to be the birthplace of Robusta coffee. The country has many small holders who are mostly producing coffee in traditional ways without adding much additional value. The Dutch social enterprise the Brand Development Group is investing in setting up a model coffee farm, based on principles of the “Circular Economy”. The “Brand Coffee Farm Uganda” is growing robusta coffee, on 80 acres of land, in a different way to create an improved value addition. Brand Coffee Farm Uganda is a coffee farm located in central Uganda The farm is currently still in the development phase, already having planted 60 acres of Robusta Coffee intercropped with banana trees and vanilla. The next phase will be to plant macademia trees as shade trees and continue expanding the vanilla intercropping. Besides these crops, the farm will further develop its production with certified red chili pepper The farm aims to support/train local small holder farmers’ activities to improve their way of producing coffee. Through training the farm will transfer knowledge regarding circular and sustainable production methods, post-harvest handling and good agricultural practices to farmers in the region. This will not only benefit their coffee production but their livelihoods as well. Brand Coffee Farm is developing the circular coffee farm approach step-by-step. It is a learning by doing experience in which we will experiment with solar powered machines, organic composting, bee keeping, water purification, mushroom production on coffee waste material, etc. This project is supported by the Dutch Good Growth Fund with an initial subsidy and currently providing the farm a credit facility.

Lotssy
We are a nonprofit on a mission to connect smallholder farmers in Uganda with quality knowledge, agro inputs, and affordable input financing. At Lotssy, we’re food system shakers obsessed with breaking the cycle of poverty for farmers in Kapchorwa. We do this by delivering high-impact, locally rooted solutions quality soil and livestock inputs, practical training, and access to fair markets through trusted Community-Based Agents (CBAs) based in the communities we serve. Farming evolves, and so do we. But one thing stays the same: Kapchorwa farmers deserve better. The biggest barrier we’re tackling is lack of access to affordable financing. Most farmers can’t afford the inputs they need when they need them. That’s why we partner with Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) to provide harvest-aligned input loans, so farmers can grow now and repay after they sell. We also solve the problem of poor input access and limited agronomic support. Our hub-and-spoke model, central warehouse plus community based agents ensures verified, high-performing inputs reach farmers within 48 hours. Every product we offer is tested for the unique volcanic soils and elevations of the Elgon region. If it doesn’t improve yields by at least 20%, we don’t sell it. Training is hands-on, delivered by local farming champions using their own fields as living classrooms. Knowledge travels peer-to-peer, rooted in trust. And with our market linkages, farmers don’t just grow more, they earn more. We measure impact in real terms: higher yields, better incomes, families fed, and futures built. And when something’s not working, we fix it. Because this model is alive, shaped by farmer feedback and grounded in what actually works. Our goal is simple: make farming work for the people who feed us all.

Seŕa Wild Coffee
With a History dating back in 1926, Sera Wild Coffee has rebranded and is focusing on growing the usual purely organic Elgon Arabica, but with the highest quality to deliver on its promise. From the red breathtaking coffee cherries, we are organically handcrafting a rich coffee Aroma, mimicking nature by applying methods that promote wild coffee growth with minimum human interaction and delivering organic coffee beans as a gift to the world, from the foothills of mountain Elgon. These coffee cherries are grown at altitudes above metres on the foothills of Mount Elgon, in the middle of small coffee growing communities on the country’s eastern border with Kenya, East Africa’s oldest volcano. Mount Elgon is a ginormous conical volcano which in its time was much larger than Africa's highest peak, Kilimanjaro. It is much older and has weathered into a flattened peak with rich volcanic soils which has helped to promote a great coffee growing culture. On our specialty farms, the red cherries are typically hand-picked, pulped, fermented, hand-washed, naturally sun dried and taken for advanced processing. We produce a combination of aromas from both the Bugisu and Sebei areas. Bugisu side on the western foothills of Mt. Elgon is known for its fruity, wine-like coffee taste, while the Sebei side produces sweet and citrusy coffees with notes of raisins and figs.
