Nxtnano
NXTNANO was formed in 2013 with a vision to solve historical industry limitations and engineer a process allowing nanofibers to be manufactured at a commercially viable rate. Our advancement has resulted in many new industries and applications now benefiting from the unique properties of nanofibers. NXTNANO's production capability in material width, speed, volume, & fiber versatility is simply unmatched. We have the ability to produce fibers from polymers of PU, PVDF, PAN, PES, and others. This versatility combined with a unique ability to simultaneously spin multiple polymers provides unprecedented flexibility. Additional research is being committed to adding "functionality" to polymers, enhancing nanofibers characteristics to not only preform filtration tasks but to enhance or preform additional function's such as odor and light absorption, even piezoelectric properties. We are driven by a commitment to deliver exceptional, industry leading nanofibers on an unprecedented scale. Our production technique is a revolutionary departure from the normal methods of fiber spinning that allows us to put down more & finer fiber, with greater consistently and bonding. NXTNANO currently produces a range of nanofiber medias, from very light surface coatings all the way up to full membranes for the apparel and micro filtration industries.

Spotless Materials
Our founding team has long had a passion for addressing global challenges facing humanity. One of our ultimate goals is to transform technology with great potential into technology with great impact. A few years ago, our co-founder, Dr. Tak-Sing Wong, was approached by a group working under the Gates Foundation’s Reinvent the Toilet Challenge looking for a solution to human waste residue in low-water toilet systems. He found that most hydrophobic and superhydrophobic coatings are excellent at repelling liquid, but fall short in their ability to repel sludge-like material. So we set out to make coatings specifically to repel human waste. The results of this work has been recently published in Nature Sustainability. We quickly learned that “sticky problems” are not unique to sanitation. From automotive application to medical, surfaces get dirty, so they need to be cleaned or replaced. Our aim is to make surfaces that keep themselves clean. Our ultimate goal is to use what we have - our skills, our technology - to make the world a better place. The concrete ways we’d like to “make the world a better place” is to help address the Global Grand Challenges [1] laid out by the National Academy of Engineering.[1]

Sub-One Systems
Note that Sub-One Technology has now become Sub-One Systems and has a new headquarters address in Tucson, AZ. Sub-One is the market leader in advanced coatings for internal surfaces. Its patented InnerArmor coating process applies a high-performance, chemically inert, protective coating which reduces operational costs. InnerArmor technology blocks corrosion, reduces erosion, stops abrasion and prevents fouling, while maximizing flow. The InnerArmor process deposits hard, smooth, pure coatings on the internal surfaces of a broad spectrum of products ranging from small metal components to long, large diameter production pipes. The net result: unprecedented levels of protection. InnerArmor applications range across a wide spectrum of industries benefiting virtually any function involving the handling or movement of fluids or gases. The Sub-One name derives from the scientific description of surface smoothness. Surfaces having a roughness coefficient lower than 1.0 microinch (or sub-one) are extremely smooth and highly desirable for many processes today. The unique, patented InnerArmor technology can apply coatings that are not only extremely smooth and hard but are also exceptionally resistant to corrosion, erosion and wear. These multi-layer coatings are amorphous, pinhole-free and naturally self-leveling—even across extended lengths. Sub-One has developed a patented process as well as state-of-the-art systems for depositing its advanced coatings onto the internal surfaces of a broad spectrum of products. These products can range from small, complex components to long, large-diameter industrial piping. Pipe coating and combating pipeline corrosion are, in fact, among the largest applications for this technology.

Waviks, Inc
Waviks was founded in 2013 by Dr. Tom Moore in Dallas, TX, to develop and produce innovative accessories for the SEM, FIB, HIM, and TEM to facilitate nanoanalysis and nanofabrication. Waviks core team has enjoyed more than 50 years of experience in designing and producing nanomanipulation and nanofabrication accessories for Omniprobe, Inc, now an Oxford Instruments company. Waviks carries on the tradition of high value accessories and a focus on customer satisfaction that can best be provided by a small and agile corporation. Waviks cornerstone product is the Vesta® laser sample heating system for the TEM, SEM. FIB and TEM. The Vesta® system relies on Waviks expertise in fully programmable nanomanipulators and the physics of nanofabrication. The Vesta® system produces a very small (10 um) heated area on the sample, so fast temperature ramping is easy and multiple sites on the same sample can be examined. There is no thermal damage to detectors or the column, and there is minimal thermal-mechanical drift in the sample, so long duration studies and movies are easy. The laser can be pulsed to look at transient events. On the analytical side, EEGS (Electron Energy Gain Spectroscopy) with laser stimulation is possible.
