Emberi vérplazmából készülnek a különböző alvadási faktorok, amelyek a veleszületett vérzékenységben, a hemofíliában szenvedő betegek ellátásához szükségesek. Továbbá, plazmából készülnek az immunrendszer működési zavaraiban szenvedő embereknek adható úgynevezett immunglobulin készítmények, sérülések után a tetanusz fertőzés megelőzésére szolgáló speciális immunglobulin készítmények, az égettek, súlyosan kivérzett, valamint gyógyítás céljából teljes plazmacserére szoruló betegek részére a humán albumin infúziók. Ezen gyógyszerek előállításához elengedhetetlen az emberi vérplazma, mert a benne található faktorokat nem lehet szintetikusan előállítani. Azért fontos a MI tevékenységünk, az önkéntes donortoborzás és a vérplazmavétel elvégzése, mert egy hemofiliás embernek több mint 1200 plazmaadó donorra van szüksége EGY ÉVI gyógyszeréhez, mert egy Alpha-1 antitripszin hiányos embernek több mint 900 plazmaadó donorra van szüksége EGY ÉVI gyógyszeréhez, mert egy elsődleges immunhiányos betegnek több mint 130 plazmaadó donorra van szüksége EGY ÉVI gyógyszeréhez. Ezért szeretnénk biztosítani a megfelelő számú önkéntes plazmaadót.
