Center For Immigration Studies
The Center for Immigration Studies is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit, research organization. Since our founding in 1985, we have pursued a single mission – providing immigration policymakers, the academic community, news media, and concerned citizens with reliable information about the social, economic, environmental, security, and fiscal consequences of legal and illegal immigration into the United States. The Center is governed by a diverse board of directors that has included active and retired university professors, civil rights leaders, and former government officials. Our research and analysis has been funded by contributions and grants from dozens of private foundations, from the U.S. Census Bureau and Justice Department, and from hundreds of generous individual donors. The data collected by the Center during the past quarter-century has led many of our researchers to conclude that current, high levels of immigration are making it harder to achieve such important national objectives as better public schools, a cleaner environment, homeland security, and a living wage for every native-born and immigrant worker. These data may support criticism of US immigration policies, but they do not justify ill feelings toward our immigrant community. In fact, many of us at the Center are animated by a "low-immigration, pro-immigrant" vision of an America that admits fewer immigrants but affords a warmer welcome for those who are admitted.

Oklahoma Institute For Child Advocacy
The Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy (OICA) was launched in 1983 by a group of citizens as the result of an investigative report by the national news media which exposed a horrific story of cruelty and abuse experienced by Oklahoma children who were in the state’s custody. That media report, “Oklahoma Shame,” spurred child advocates from every corner of the state into action to create an organization whose mission was to ensure the protection of Oklahoma’s children. OICA was established to create a strong advocacy network that would provide a voice for the needs of children and youth in Oklahoma, particularly those in the state’s care and those growing up amid poverty, violence, abuse and neglect, disparities, or other situations that put their lives and future at risk. Our Mission: “Creating awareness, taking action, and supporting policy to improve the health, safety, and well-being of Oklahoma’s children.” OICA has remained vigilant to that mission, fighting for policies that improve the lives of children and families and being their voice at the State Capitol and in the communities where they live and learn. Our advocacy in action: Is Data-Driven – sharing the latest, most relevant data and research on key issues and indicators related to the well-being of children and youth. Promotes Best Practices – translating data and research into practice and promoting best-practice program models and effective partnerships that achieve results. Supports Policies – using data, research, and partnerships to identify solutions and inform policy-making decisions. For three decades, the Institute has been informing and educating state policymakers and other citizens on the importance of investing wisely in children and families. We understand that when children thrive — our state thrives. Whether working with state policymakers and agencies, or with health, education, business, and community organizations across our state, Oklahoma’s children — and our state’s economy — are reaping the benefits of the work we do together as voices for Oklahoma’s future.

Cambridge Local First
Cambridge Local First is a network of locally owned and independent businesses formed in October 2005 to build a strong Cambridge economy and a vibrant community. We do this by: Raising the awareness of consumers, businesses, and government agencies about the benefits of purchasing from locally owned businesses. Bringing together independent businesses for mutual benefit and networking opportunities. Supporting Cambridge ordinances and regulations that promote locally owned businesses. Why do we do it? In an era of global economy and outsourcing, businesses and customers are becoming increasingly separated from each other and from their communities. When consumers buy from large chain retailers or "big box" stores, only 35 cents of each dollar spent, on average, remains in the community—the rest goes to outside interests, corporate headquarters, or overseas. Large national or multinational corporations, because of the vast scope of their business, tend to show little concern for the environment, sustainable business practices, or the overall quality of life in a given community. Fortunately, consumers have an alternative. By supporting independent, locally-owned businesses, they can keep 58% more of each dollar in the local economy, and form long-term relationships with local businesses who are invested in their customers and their community…and this is just the beginning.

Unify America
Our mission is to shift American culture and national decision-making away from political fighting toward problem solving, away from conflict toward consensus. We are setting out to conduct an experiment to see if a million Americans, from all walks of life, can identify a set of solutions, by consensus, to achieve a national goal shared by us all…and then become the lobbying force to make their own agreed-upon solutions a reality. Coming out of that experience, we believe Americans will have a vision for how to start to dramatically reform our system of representative government. It begins with identifying national goals shared by nearly all Americans. If that sounds impossible in these divisive times, well, it turns out Americans largely agree on our highest aspirations for our country. We disagree only on tactics. We disagree about gun control, but most of us hope for less violence. We disagree about ObamaCare, but most of us want high-quality, affordable health care for everyone. We disagree about the ethics of the death penalty, but few of us want to see innocent people behind bars or put to death. Unify America is working to help us see that we are far more unified than we believe, and that THERE IS A WAY to address our greatest, most intractable problems in a spirit of unity and cooperation.
