Founded in 1922, Glen Bernard Camp is one of Ontario's premier summer camps for girls (ages 4 through 16) and Outdoor Education Centres for co-ed school groups. Our mission is to provide a caring experience in which campers and staff develop self-confidence. The environment fosters both independence and group belonging. Fun is fundamental to the success of GBC. Glen Bernard is a leader in environmental education. Our significant commitment to teaching environmental sustainability is demonstrated by the use of solar energy, composting toilets, energy-efficient lighting and a solar boat. Our earth education program and activities take place in state-of-the art, solar powered buildings which allow campers to interact and learn about sustainable technologies and our relationship with the natural world. Campers entering grade 11 will be participating in the Pacer leadership program and have the opportunity to earn on Ontario Ministry of Education grade 11 Guidance credit and Leadership and Peer Support credit (GPP30). Glen Bernard has an established reputation of helping girls develop self-confidence and independence. Each day is filled with opportunities to challenge campers of all ages and skill levels. Our wide variety of activities creates endless possibilities of new choices. Campers participate in the following activities: canoeing, kayaking, sailing, boardsailing, theatre, rock climbing, high ropes, low ropes, mountain biking, horseback riding, trampoline, canoe trips, arts & crafts, tennis, archery, golf and more!
