Loxwood Meadworks
At Loxwood Meadworks, we make English honey wine, a drink rooted in history yet reimagined for the now. Quietly luxurious, our wines are made not from grapes, but from just three ingredients: honey, water and yeast. A natural expression of provenance, fermented with patience and purpose. We began with a simple idea: that mead could be more than a novelty and curiosity. That it could belong on wine lists, at dinner tables, and in the hands of those who appreciate the rare, the refined, and the real. And so, with the help of beekeepers, winemakers and a belief in doing things differently, we’ve built something gentle yet bold. A brand rooted in nature, but made for a modern wine drinker. This is wine, from bees not vines.

1276 Wines
English Wine with a Remarkable History. First planted in 1276 by the Bishop of Hereford, our wines enjoy the same unique microclimate on the south-facing Wall Hills of Ledbury to produce premium Sparkling, Still and Ice Wines.''I want the focus our wines to be on the character of our fruit and vineyard. The wines we make will always be driven by the unique qualities of our site (dictated by our temperate climate and rich red clay soils), and tell the story of each vintage, so my job as a winemaker will always be to shine the spotlight upon our fruit and terroir.'' Head Winemaker, Laurence Cocking The Story behind 1276 In 1276, the Bishop of Hereford recorded in his 'Red Book' the planting of vines on the south facing slopes of Ledbury. These early, ecclesiastical vines marked the beginning of a long and remarkable connection between the land that we now care for, and wine. With the same unique microclimate and amazing soils of the 13th century, vines have been reintroduced, and the passion of growing grapes to create amazing wine continues and evolves. We planted our first vines in 2012, today we harvest over 25 acres, and six different varieties. Managed sympathetically to nature and a testament to this land’s long history, 1276 wines are proud members of Sustainable Wines of Great Britain. Head Winemaker, Laurence Cocking, crafts the wines at our onsite winery, producing a portfolio of beautiful still, sparkling and ice wines. Location and Terroir Nestled in thje south-facing slopes of the Wall Hills of Ledbury, our vineyard enjoys productive Herefordshire soils. The sulurian bed with, red clay sandstone soils are a breathing foundation for exceptional wine, and provides us with a unique blend of nutrients, texture, and structure. Within a single acre, subtle differences emerge—some blocks offer pronounced minerality, others a softer, more delicate character providing us with pockets of micro and macro variations, which is reflected in our wines.

Carvers Hill Estate Ltd
We might be biased, but we don't think there is anywhere like our estate in rural Wiltshire in the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the North Wessex Downs. We officially opened our doors in May 2025 which coincided with the release of our inaugural rosé from the 2024 harvest. Unlike many other wineries in the UK, we have two dedicated spaces available for hire. The Cedar Room can host 22 people, seated at our custom-made ash table, perfect for off-site board meetings and company away days. We also have the Oak Room, a large vaulted atrium that can hold up to 150 people. Situated only 45 minutes by train from London and ample car parking, we think this is the perfect place for your team to get inspired. And who knows, with our stunning views, great food and award-winning vintage, you'll quite probably want a wine tasting too.
