Hi, I’m Taylor — a software engineer (Take that, imposter syndrome!) I started my tech journey by self-teaching, then joined 4Geeks Academy to deepen my skills. I leaned into backend development because it scared me but with the mindset “I can do hard things,” I built confidence and a strong technical foundation. More than anything, I learned HOW to learn. Currently, I’m an Implementation Specialist at FM:Systems (JCI), leading projects that help workplaces run smarter using interactive floor plans and data-driven insights. I also interned at makeitMVP, sharpening my backend and database skills, and now mentor aspiring developers at 4Geeks Academy in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, React, Bootstrap, Python, Python Flask, SQLAlchemy, and REST APIs. Mentoring challenges me in the best way. I never know what someone will ask, and that keeps me sharp and grounded. Whenever I want to learn something new, I build a project. Right now, I’m creating a mobile app using React Native, TypeScript, and Firebase to help families with shared custody communicate better — a project that’s both technically challenging and deeply personal. I’m a firm believer that “everything you’ve ever wanted is sitting on the other side of fear,” so I don’t shy away from challenges. Let’s connect!
