As an articulate and experienced academic with strong business and technology skills, I aim to enhance the learning process through effective program planning, development, administration, instruction and research. Costa K••• holds a M.Sc. in Geophysics from McGill University and a Bachelor of Science in Seismology from the University of Athens. He is an educator with over twenty years of both in-person and online teaching experience. He has developed a learner-centered approach to course delivery by adapting lesson plans to different types of learners and motivates learners to actively participate by creating an engaging and effective learning environment. Costa is a recipient of an Excellence in Teaching Award and is a passionate instructor, committed to life-long learning. He provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all learners of diverse cultures and backgrounds. Costa has held leadership positions as Mathematics Department Head and has played an integral role in developing and articulating university transfer math and statistics courses. Additionally, he has successfully led projects focused on course and program review and development. He is the Vice-Chair of The BC Committee on the Undergraduate Program in Mathematics and Statistics (BCCUPMS) and co-chair of the BC Mathematics Adult Basic Education Articulation Committee. Prior to becoming an educator, Costa engaged in geophysical research and held various roles, including exploration geophysicist, digital satellite imagery analyst, and software database developer. Drawing from his extensive experience in the private business industry, he has gained invaluable insights into the significance of empowering learners with the ever evolving and cutting-edge skills demanded by businesses of all sizes. Costa teaches Mathematics and Statistics and enjoys supporting learners to succeed in every aspect of their academic career. Publications and Scholarly Activity Costa actively serves on a Research Ethics Board Committee and has published a suite of educational and scientific articles. His current research focuses on exploring the seamless integration of educational technologies in STEM education with a primary goal of enhancing the overall learning process.
