Independent Contractor for Multiple Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation Programs at Spca

About

On the record

I have been working in the pet & rescue industry on and off for the last 13 years. I have experience in everything from retail, pet grooming, dog training, dog handling, kennel management and more. I have spent most of my time working in animal shelters & vet clinics, but my real passion is in rescue & rehabilitation. I volunteer with a few different programs that help combat & control feral cat overpopulation all over the southern United States. I an independent contractor for a few different organizations that transport animals from different shelters & rescues all over the country. On top of all of that I am a full time foster parent for cats & kittens in need. There is never a moment where I don’t have at least one foster animal in my home. Last but not least, I occasionally rehabilitate orphaned animals such as opossums, raccoons & squirrels which are then released back into the wild. My specialty is opossums but I never turn away an animal in need no matter the species or the level of care they need. My entire life revolves around helping animals. Whether it’s tending to my ever fluctuating house full of animals or helping to educate the people of New Orleans about the importance of spaying & neutering their pets, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else with my life. Even when it can be emotionally draining & overwhelming, I still enjoy everything that I do because I know that at the end of the day I have made a difference in someone’s life.
