About
On the record
I lead the Solutions Engineering and Solutions Architecture teams at Nearmap, formulating long term strategy focused on scalability and data driven decisions. Read more below to find out what the means:Nearmap is an aerial imagery company that is disrupting the traditional imagery market by offering our imagery as a subscription, flying cities multiple times per year, only capturing at sub 3" resolution, and hosting our imagery on the cloud within days of being captured.Nearmap is also the leader in 3D data, with quite possibly the largest database of 3D Textured Mesh in the entire world. All of this 3D is available for download straight from our web based mapping application, MapBrowser! So, a little more about me. Right after high school I joined the US Army and served as an Army Ranger and Sniper for 5 years, from 2005-2010, deploying for a total of 27 months to Iraq and Afghanistan.Immediately after completing my time in the Army, with an Honorable Discharge, I began pursuing my education. I completed my undergrad from the University of Colorado with a major in Geography and Environmental Science, I also got two minors, one in Sustainable Development, and another in Geology. After my undergrad I attended the University of Denver where I earned a Master's Certificate in Geographic Information Science.I have worked in several different industries within the GIS field, to include: Aerial Imagery (Sanborn), Utilities (Parker Water District, Mountain View Electric Association, Global Mapping Solutions) GPS Data Collection and Project Management (Global Mapping Solutions), Database Management (Parker Water District), and most recently as a Geospatial Engineer at Nearmap, where I have been promoted to the Manager of Sales Engineering!Sales Engineering has quickly become my passion, and I absolutely love working at Nearmap. I am lucky enough that I get to work with a wide range of customers, learning about new use cases and new industries. It is exciting seeing all of the various ways that organizations can leverage Nearmap imagery to solve their problems! And myself and my team are at the front lines of that, working with our customers to recommend the best product for their use case. Some of the things I do daily, or some of the things I am the SME at Nearmap on are-Photogrammetry-Artificial Intelligence-GIS Analysis-API's-3D Visualization
