Hello, I’m Stella O•••, an Educator, Biologist, and social impact brainbox, passionate about designing and implementing impactful programs in education, sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence, gender equity, and disability inclusion. My work focuses on empowering individuals, particularly women and children in underserved communities to create lasting social change.Currently, I am a Programme Officer at the Centre for Women’s Health and Information, where I contribute to research, program planning and coordination, monitoring and evaluation. I also engage in advocacy visits, stakeholder meetings, and facilitate training and capacity-building initiatives that advocate for women. Driven by a passion for impact, I joined the Teach For Nigeria Fellowship in 2020 to change the narrative of education in Nigeria. I applied best teaching practices and implemented targeted interventions, which improved academic literacy and the well-being of approximately secondary school students. I also featured on Smooth FM, where I shared my journey and impact as a Teach For Nigeria Fellow. In 2022, I was spotlighted twice as an outstanding TFN Fellow in Lagos.Additionally, in 2021, I founded the Starr Light Initiative to address critical issues such as school dropout rates, teenage pregnancy, and social-emotional challenges among young females in low-income communities. Through this initiative, over 763+ young people in Nigeria have received comprehensive sexual education and life skills, empowering them to make informed decisions, avoid risky behaviors that threaten their health, and stay in school.In my role as an Education Officer, I received a commendation as the Overall Best Teacher of 2022, and was recognized as the Most Dedicated Teacher in 2023. Additionally, I was a nominee for the Best Teacher in the Junior category in 2022.My core skills include program management, research, facilitation, data analysis, reporting & documentation. In addition, my talent for bringing ideas to life is well-known, and I find great joy in hosting activities where I can share knowledge, facilitate discussions, and nurture collaborative learning.
