About
On the record
I am a doctoral candidate in the Department of Anthropology at New York University researching subspecific morphological divergence in non-human primates under the supervision of Susan C. Antón. I am heavily involved in a National Science Foundation-sponsored project to build a research collection of skeletal materials from a free-ranging colony of rhesus macaques living on the island of Cayo Santiago, Puerto Rico, at NYU. I have also worked alongside multidisciplinary, international research teams to collect morphometric and microbiome data from living rhesus macaques at laboratory facilities in Puerto Rico. In addition to my research, I am actively involved in initiatives aiming to encourage the participation of students from underrepresented communities in STEM. I am passionate about issues related to educational equity, especially those that pair technological innovation with policy advocacy to formulate solutions that meet the needs of students from diverse backgrounds.
