Laboratory manager, research gemologist, instrument designer and instructor. Prior to GGTL Laboratories, Research Manager and Laboratory Manager at GIA for two years. Numerous articles published; among others in collaboration with my good friend and partner Dr. Thomas Hainschwang and the University of Nantes on diamonds ("ABC Diamonds;"asteriated" hydrogen rich diamonds, HPHT treatment of diamonds containing CO2, pink and brown diamonds, CVD Diamonds, diamond graphitization, etc.) and colored stones (corundum, emerald, spinel, tanzanite, euclase, Trapiche tourmalines, etc.). Laboratory gemology classes at the University of Nantes on gemological laboratories analysis techniques and protocols; on the detection of treatments (emerald, corundum, diamond etc.) and on synthesis identification (diamond, beryl, corundum, spinel, quartz, etc.). Main research interest pertains to corundum and emerald (geographical origin, treatment, synthesis, etc.) and radionuclides. Design of high tech analytical equipment for gemological research.
