Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) Program Director, PETA Lingap Sining E-Mail: gailgb2014@gmail.com Mobile:+63 917 1049379;+63 976 2758125 EDUCATION University of the Philippines – Los Banos (UPLB) Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology Major : Human and Family Development Studies Minor : Early Childhood Education Gail Guanlao-B••• is the Director for PETA’s Lingap Sining Program: Healing through the Arts, leading projects on health advocacy promotion, creative campaigns towards engaging the youth on voters’ empowerment and on transforming “change” narratives. Through her leadership, the program is also actively engaged in advocacies related to human rights education and democracy advocacy, community mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) and resiliency education within the contexts of disaster risk reduction, suicide prevention and enhancing community and family support for communities at risk of disaster and other humanitarian emergencies. Gail has led PETA projects funded by Misereor (Germany), Asia Democracy Netowrk (ADN), Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace (CCODP Canada), Terre Des Hommes (Germany), and Terre des Hommes (Netherlands). Parallel to her Theater for Development work, Gail is also a senior artist-teacher-leader in PETA from 1998 to present. She also served as International Liaisons Officer and Secretariat to the Management Committee from 1994 to 2008. She is also a resource person and facilitator for various trainings organized by the Balik Kalipay Center for Psychosocial Response in cooperation with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) particularly with their CAPID Program – Strengthening Capacities on Conflict Induced Forced Displacement in Mindanao and YOUCAP (Youth for Culture and Peace and Non-Violence in Mindanao) from 2018-2021 and with UNICEF rEBaP Project (Evidence-Based Planning for Resilent Health Systems Project) from 2014-2015. She graduated from the University of the Philippines – Los Banos (UPLB) with a degree on B.S. Human Ecology, with a major in Human and Family Development Studies (HFDS) and Early Childhood Education (ECE). She has been regularly tapped as an alumnus facilitator and resource speaker for the various family development seminars, conferences and online forum led by the UPLB-DHFDS. She was also awarded “Distinguished Alumna for Community Building and Rehabilitation Efforts” by the UPLB College of Human Ecology in 2017.
