I currently hold over 12 years of experience in the Oil Sands Industry, specializing in Workface Planning, Project Scheduling, Project Coordination and Estimating. After receiving my diploma in Civil Engineering Technology I dove into the workforce and, as an intrepid career move, began as a skilled laborer with an initiative to gain experience and develop a knowledge base of the Industry. In short order I became a part of a project team where I was responsible for project administration duties within a Project Controls role. After facing the challenges this role offered I developed a conceptual understanding of Project Management which transitioned me into the role of Estimating Lead. Through continuous involvement in Major Oil Sands Projects, my career has prospered into multiple proficiencies: PROJECT PLANNING/ SCHEDULING: Prepare project Installation Work Packages (IWPs) which incorporate scope execution, safety measures, quality controls, resources, risk planning, and special condition interdependencies. Develop, maintain, and progress Construction Schedule Forecasts utilizing Primavera P6 while coordinating with management and supervision. PREPLANNING AND ESTIMATING Work with management teams to develop estimates inclusive of crew build ups, construction execution sequences, construction execution plans, and construction baseline schedules. FIELD ENGINEERING Create and submit RFIs, FCNs, and NCRs … etc, build material and quantity take-offs, participate in construction walk downs and progress claim walks. COST CONTROLS Maintain project budgets; create cost code structures; issue field coding based on client supplied SOW; review and approve daily LEMs; monthly cost and revenue reporting; create and submit project invoices; create, submit and present weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly Client P&P reports CHANGE MANAGEMENT Identify out of scope work and notify client representative through change notice. Develop a budgetary estimate within a Change Proposal. Upon approval of Change Proposal, execute work on a Lump Sum, T&M, or Unit Rate basis. Create a Change Order for final client approval. My skill sets are balanced with a strong ability to uphold and preserve positive working relationships with colleagues, peers, and management alike.
