About
On the record
Food & drinks educator, writer and photographer “inspiring life at the epicurean edge”. After an early mis-spent career in marketing communications, I found my true calling in the late 1980s, training initially at the London Cordon Bleu and the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). Over the subsequent four decades, I've researched and sampled a huge and diverse range of food, drink and ingredients of many different cultures across six continents. My passion is guiding others to extend their food & drink experiences. To this end, I design, organise and conduct masterclasses, courses, seminars and events on sake, wine, spirits, olive oil, indigenous ingredients and all things gastronomical - covering a range of aspects including appreciation, food matching, diversity, culture, history and skills. In addition to my freelance activities, I am a WSET Certified Educator teaching their Levels 1,2 and 3 Awards in Sake and Spirits. I also teach the Sake School of America’s Sake Advisor and Shochu Advisor courses. I run their International Sake School based in UK.
