Preferred Homes Limited (PHL) is a profit making private registered provider of social housing (RP) approved by the Regulator of Social Housing in April 2020 (registration number 5093). PHL's aim is to develop, own and manage a substantial portfolio of affordable rented Extra Care schemes (independent retirement living with access to intermediate care) throughout the United Kingdom. Working alongside Local Authorities with unfulfilled demand for quality Extra Care housing, PHL brings private sector capital alongside Homes England grant to deliver Extra Care apartment schemes for qualifying tenants at affordable rent. Previously, for 25 years I was in legal private practice as a senior Real Estate Partner at Eversheds Sunderland where I advised public bodies (including Local Authorities), developers and investors on housing led regeneration projects and urban renewal schemes across the United Kingdom. I led Eversheds relationship with English Partnerships/Homes & Communities Agency (Now Homes England) and understand all grant and housing funding schemes provided by Homes England. Specialties: Legal development and investment, delivery of housing led regeneration and development projects and public/private partnerships. I’m a cultural leader in several arts/cultural organisations - I’m the Chair of Band on the Wall and a Trustee of HOME the multi-arts centre in Manchester.
