Aspiring Dance Movement Therapist currently completing an Honours Degree in Social Anthropology with research focused on the use of dance/movement to extend storytelling and expression amongst children living in an orphanage in Cape Town. My academic journey and research have deepened my understanding of cultural dynamics and human behavior, which are essential for roles requiring empathy and communication.My clear intent to segue into Dance Movement Therapy stems from 7 years of teaching dance to children and adults, as well as working as a professional dancer. I've observed firsthand the holistic wellness that dance brings to the body and mind. This passion for dance, combined with my love for teaching, drives my goal to facilitate personal growth.Professionally, I have diverse experience, including roles in education, digital marketing, project management, and the creative arts. As an Online English Teacher, I have developed strong communication skills and cultural awareness. In my role as a Digital Marketer and Project Manager at Barefoot Digital, I gained experience in data capturing, market research, social media management, and B2B marketing.My work in the arts includes roles such as Assistant Stylist for productions, Film Intern, and Art Department Trainee. These roles have involved pre-production planning, on-set assistance, managing petty cash, and coordinating photoshoots. Additionally, I have performed as a professional dancer and mentored students to achieve success in competitions.I am currently seeking job opportunities that leverage my academic background and professional experiences. I am open to roles in research, social services, cultural organizations, community outreach, digital marketing, and other areas where I can contribute meaningfully. I am a quick learner, motivated, and adaptable, and I look forward to connecting with professionals who can offer insights, guidance, or opportunities as I navigate the next steps in my career journey.
