Dedicated conservationist who has had the privilege to work in the African bush for a good number of years and on a variety of projects. While gathering and analysing extensive amounts of ecological data in the field I grew interested in using technology to aid in this process. I strongly feel that informed decision-making is at the basis of successful protected area management and therefore recognise that effective and efficient technological solutions are a vital part of that success. Implementing on-the-ground communication, developing applications for data collection, tracking animals/ assets through senor technology and enabling situation awareness visualisation are just a couple of the solutions I am currently working on.
