I am Idaresit Mercedes, a Certified Global HR Professional with over 10 years of cross-industry experience in driving change and championing corporate values, mission, and vision to achieve operational objectives. I have a solid history of improving manager and employee performance, boosting employee morale, and increasing diversity, inclusion, and equity through talent acquisition, compensation, and workforce planning which has been successfully applied across Agriculture, Logistics, Aviation, Travel & Tours, Consulting and Telecommunications sectors. In my line of work, I am proud to have built HR departments from scratch to ensure that all practices best fit the organization's goals. I develop policies, procedures, and coordinate human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services. I also contribute to the company's performance by providing tactical and strategic HR initiatives on people and organizational development in support of the business objectives, serving as an internal consultant by improving performance through identifying and clarifying problems,implementing selected solutions, coaching, counseling and recommending courses of action. My experience as a Human Resources Consultant has been instrumental in providing small and medium-sized enterprises with HR solutions tailored to their needs. I have championed HRIS configuration, analyzed and recommended solutions, and provided ongoing strategic guidance to senior leadership teams. I have also established recruitment models for strategic accounts, provided career counseling to over 200 professionals in Nigeria, Dubai, Ghana, UK, and Ireland. My expertise in training, performance management, and employee engagement are vital in fostering an atmosphere where HR is a trusted resource for employees and managers, respected for its expertise and called upon for consultation and support. In addition to my professional achievements, I am deeply committed to making a positive impact in my community. I am a certified United Nations SDG Advocate and I volunteer as a liaison officer at The Consent Workshop, where I contribute to the deconstruction of rape culture in Nigeria through consent education, breaking the silence of sexual abuse, and fostering a positive sex culture among youths. I believe that it's an opportunity to help girls and women recover from traumatic experiences and promote a safer and more inclusive society.
