About
On the record
Geena L••• is CEO of L••• Vineyards and over the past decade she has overseen the continued growth of the family-run Gaspereau Valley winery, while maintaining the L•••-brand commitment to customer service and quality. With vast experience in the wine and tourism industry in Nova Scotia and even New Zealand, she’s done it all! From crushing grapes, to planning epic events, to managing an ever-growing team. Geena has made it her business to know Nova Scotia viticulture from the terroir up! Her passion for hospitality and agriculture is a genuine one. Her first job was ringing in vibrant fruits and veggies at Pete’s Frootique. After completing a Bachelor of Management from Dalhousie University in 2012, she forged her own path in retail as manager of Road Apples Pet & Equestrian Essentials before ultimately feeling ready to jump in with both feet with the newly opened L••• Vineyards in 2013. Since then, Geena has established herself as a skilled entrepreneur in her own right. Currently she is vice-chair of the Wine Growers Association of Nova Scotia board of directors, participates in the WGNS marketing committee and serves as a director on the board of the Nova Scotia Icewine Festival. Previously, she has held a position on the Taste of Nova Scotia board. Always on trend, Geena has championed a new generation of Nova Scotian wine-based canned beverages, including the Hair of the Dog rosé bubbly and the recently launched Rockrose wine spritzer. She is always on the lookout for innovation, new ways to grow, collaborations and partnerships. Inheriting the gift of gab and enterprising spirit from her father, the memorable and gregarious Pete, she makes a top choice speaker on topics such as growing a family business, winery management and product development.
