Hello, my name is Mirela Ciobanu, and I am the Lead Editor of Banking and Fintech at The Paypers. My passion for the digital assets industry, regtech, digital identity, fraud prevention, and payment innovation drives me to edit, report, and write stories that captivate and inform our readers. I have a broad interest in the digital currency space, which is why I love digging into the crypto world and closely following CBDCs across the CEE region. Writing and talking about Digital Identity is also a favorite topic of mine, as I advocate for keeping our data safe. My expertise extends beyond writing and editing, as I have moderated panels on topics such as security and UX during onboarding. Additionally, I enjoy learning about fighting money laundering and regtech topics. When I'm not working, you can find me running long distances. I have completed an impressive 105 km run in 15 hours with elevation. Before joining The Paypers, I worked in various fields such as English training, customer support, and sales. These experiences taught me the importance of developing soft skills, which have been invaluable in my current role. I believe that finding one's purpose in life is crucial.
