I am not as good as you in your job. I can’t do what you do. What I can do is make people better at what they do. I’ve spent the past 20 years focusing on developing great executives, nurturing high-potentials, igniting the passion and motivation in others to become great. As far back as I can remember, I have felt this passion to maximize my, and others, performance. I recall devouring books on success, self-development and biographies since junior high. I was the kid who went to all of the sports camps during the summers and passed all of this knowledge back to my teammates in the fall (my nickname was “Coach” since I was 15). I was the player hanging on to every word from the Michigan football staff; watching the coaches get every ounce of effort from walk-ons to future NFL stars. Later, I was a manager in two Fortune 500 companies where my main functions were sales or logistics. I was very successful in these areas, however my deepest satisfaction came from developing the members of my staff. During Business School, I decided to change my career and focus on what I am good at, what I was meant to do, what I love to do. So now, I am an executive coach who can also train. I am a trainer who knows business. I am a consultant who has twenty years experience of supporting/surviving the highs and lows of so many clients in Asia. Its what I do. Am I satisfied with my skills and experience? No, not at all. In that case, I am just like you. Always learning. Always questioning. Always growing.
