About
On the record
As a retired bank executive, I am using my 40 plus years of financial industry experience to help companies and non-profit organizations improve their strategy and performance. After beginning my financial career with Barclays Bank in the Caribbean, I joined Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) in 1976 and spent the next 40 years gaining experience in a variety of business areas including Personal & Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. During this time, I excelled in a number of leadership roles in Performance Management, Strategy, Business Development Mergers & Acquisitions, Product Management, Commercial Banking, Field and Sales Management, and Private Banking. In my last RBC role as executive head of Strategy and Strategic Performance Management for Personal & Commercial Banking, I led the effort to win international recognition for RBC’s industry leading performance, which resulted in the bank winning four prestigious international awards, including back-to-back “Best Retail Bank in the World” awards in 2014 and 2015. While at RBC, I obtained my designation as a certified director from the Institute of Corporate Directors, and represented the bank on a variety of boards, including RBC Royal Bank Barbados and the Institute for Canadian Citizenship.I currently provide specialized management consulting services to Financial Services Companies, including the Office of the Chief Executive Officer at RBC. I also serve on the 1) Editorial board member for London based Retail Banker International, 2) Director for Private Companies, 3) Inaugural Board of Governors for International Business University( IBU) and 4) Inaugural co-chair for Canada Guyana Chamber of Commerce.
