I have over 30 years of varied experience that includes civil engineering design, environmental cleanup, contaminated site investigation, construction procurement, and construction management. I spent four years as a contractor doing heavy earthwork, utilities, hazardous waste site cleanup, and geosynthetic liners for impoundments and caps. This gives me a unique and very broad understanding of both the design and construction side of projects ranging from building pads, parking lots, and utilities to Marcellus Shale impoundments, landfill closures, sludge stabilization, slurry walls, and soil and groundwater contamination. My clients have included Fortune 500 companies, energy companies, ENR Top Five Contractors, and Superfund Site PRP Groups. My most recent positions can be summarized as follows: • Manage the design of water transfer piping for Marcellus shale projects. • Investigation and design of bauxite residue disposal area closure. • Manage the design and construction of multi-million dollar construction projects. • Engineering design and permitting for site construction and environmental remediation projects. • Construction contractor for site development and environmental remediation projects. • Construction manager for environmental remediation construction projects. • Contractor/subcontractor procurement and management and construction cost control. On my projects, I tend to look for areas to make improvements that are reflected in our project performance and thus the company and client’s bottom line. This has included new technologies such as GPS surveying, GPS machine control, and GIS as well as value-engineering during design to save my client money during construction.
